White Fillings
White fillings restore a damaged tooth to its former glory, which allows for good function whilst looking like a natural tooth. They also have the added benefit of bonding to the tooth surface unlike metal fillings, which often provides added strength.
From £75 for members, £90 for non-members
The case study below shows this young patient had decay in the top surface of an upper molar tooth. After cleaning out the soft decay, stained but not decayed tooth was left underneath to minimise tooth loss, which improves the prognosis of the tooth with no adverse effects to the strength of the filling.
A white composite filling was then bonded in place and shaped so as to mimic a natural tooth. The end result is aesthetically pleasing and barely visible to the eye – this picture is zoomed in so as to make the filling visible.
Much larger fillings on back teeth as well as small fillings on front teeth can be done to achieve a similar natural aesthetic result.
